What is PDO Threads?
PDO stands for Polydioxanone, which refers to the material used to make the thread used in the lifting process. PDO threads provide many specific benefits:

What types do PDO/PCL threads have?
PDO suture is a material used for thread lifting. PDO stands for polydioxanone, which is an absorbable polymer, flexible and durable, suitable for minimally invasive thread lifting. PDO thread, sometimes called PDS thread, has many textures.
There are three main textures of PDO sutures: mono thread, cog thread and screw thread:
1- Mono thread is a single, smooth suture fixed to the face, which can provide a small lift to the face.
2- Cog thread has a barbed texture, which can provide better lift and increase collagen production.
3- Screw thread has 1-2 intertwined threads to provide volume for the treatment area.
Which type PDO/PCL threads should i choose?
For patients who just want to tighten their skin and rejuvenate, mono thread may be sufficient. Patients who need more lift and volume will better benefit from cog or screw threads.
Can thread lifts go wrong?
Because of their non-invasiveness, the risk of thread lift is very rare. In very rare cases, patients may feel irritation, infection or sutures.
What can I expect during treatment?
Once the anesthetic takes effect, the PDO/PCL threads treatment will begin. The PDO thread is inserted through a blunt tip needle, called a cannula, or sharp-tipped needle. Once inserted into the appropriate skin layer, they act as anchor points as the skin lifted. Then, the excess thread is cut off.
